Need Help Using The Database?
Our goal with the database was to provide you with the ability to quickly make a search based on the most crucial points of consideration when looking for a suitable replacement engine and the system was designed to be both as flexible and easy to use as possible.
At the time of this writing, we have somewhere around eight hundred individual engines listed (with more in the works) and due to the vast amount of information involved, this page is intended to provide a few tips that could be helpful to you.

At the top of the search page, you will see the following suggestion:

You may base your search from as many (or as few) of the fields listed below. Keep in mind that the more complex the search, the fewer results will be returned.

Although you can select as many of the available fields as you wish to meet your specific needs, you may find it easier to navigate the data by selecting only the items that are most crucial. For example, if your only requirement is a vertical shaft engine of a certain horsepower with a 3/4 inch diameter shaft, selecting only those options will bring up engines for every brand in the database that meets those specifications. For example:
This search above returned a couple of pages in positive results, but adding Kawasaki as the manufacturer, it returned zero items (see note) for the otherwise exact same search data. Just keep in mind that the returns will be fewer and fewer as you get more specific.
* At the time of writing this help guide, Kawasaki does not offer a 5 HP horizontal shaft engine with a 3/4 crankshaft.

Search By OEM Model Number
The model number field was designed to be used as what is known as a "fuzzy" search field. Assuming you have a specific model number you are looking for, you can search using any or all of the numbers that you have. For example:

Notice that using a partial model number initially returned 15 results, but then each subsequent search returned fewer results according to the more specific info entered. Also note that because I left out the "S" in the model number for the last search, it returned zero results.
Entering data in this search field, will result in fewer (or zero) returns depending on the amount and accuracy of the data entered.

Browsing Your Search Results

As the image above shows, once you have a group of results, you will se a short summary of info for each engine and can browse through the results as you wish. The "Next" button shown as item A will take you to the next page or you can click on any of the page numbers (item B) to go to a specific page.

Finally, if you click the "See Details" link shown as item C, it will take you to the full detailed specification page for the selected engine as shown below:

As shown above, you can click the link to visit our secure shopping cart to get current pricing and/or make an online purchase.
To summarize, you can be as specific as you wish with your search, but be sure to try more than one attempt should you not find the results you are looking for.
